The Rally is held at Nyora annually, this year on March 17 & 18. As the name suggests there is an historic tractor pull plus a great display of old tractors and some working horses. There is also a display of stationary engines and other ‘olden days’ stuff. Plus there are some historic trucks. This year we didn’t get there until lunch time on the Sunday as we had to get our trucks back from the Melbourne International Truck Show, so here are some of the trucks that were there then.
A duo of 1974 1418 Mercedes Benz trucks - ours is above and Eric Shingles is below
A neat 1948 A70 Austin ute, owned by Bill & Judy Aitken.
Jim Parker's Bedford and a Ford L9000.
John Gramlick's Commer Knocker and Commer van and Graham & Heather Cameron's D1210 Inter.
A Ford K1110. Apparently, the Ford Thames Trader K series was introduced in the early 1960s and were produced until 1972.
A D1910 Inter.
Warwick Bryce's Leader, used to be owned by Calleja Transport.
Stan Hamilton's 1946 Maple Leaf and Tony & Glenys Hackett's REO Gold Comet.
Glenn Lancey's 1977 Dodge, a C1300 Inter, John & Bev Ferguson's KB6 Inter, our Benz, a White, Eric's Benz and the D1910 Inter.
Kelvin Wyatt's J-model Bedford, Ian Latham's Inter and Vyn Harris' Kenworth crane truck.
Finally, Graham Young's hay bale loader mounted on a J-model Bedford. It won the best working exhibit at the Show.
Hi just a correction the working horse and tractor rally is on the 16th and 17th of March 2013 not the 9th and 10th as stated. Cheers Melanie, Secretary Working horse and Tractor Rally
