The Historic Commercial Vehicle Club (HCVC) held their Display Day at Sandown Racecource on Sunday, November 24 2013. Here are some of the trucks - in this post we will start with the Diamond Ts and continue through the alphabet to Internationals. If you want to see Atkinsons to Commers, then click here. If you want to see Kenworths to a Yorkshire Steam truck then click here. The weather was a bit overcast and rainy, so some of the photos are a bit ordinary.
This is the Critter, owned by Ian Castles - it's apparently a hybrid or a bitser. Pretty impressive.
Stephen Corstorphan's 1957 Diamond T
Des Walker's Diamond T timber jinker
Fred Love's newly restored Diamond T
Aldo Marson's Diamond T
Bob Lee's 1937 Diamond T. We love this truck.
Bill Aitken's Dodge, above, and Heather Cameron's is below
Peter Lynch's Dodge
More Dodges - spiffy red one, above and a restorers delight, below.
A big grey, scary looking Dodge, above - it's a Power Wagon - and a duo of matching grey Dodges, below.
Bill O'Halloran, HCVC Club stalwart and living treasure, displayed his 1975 Dodge.
Ian Latham's 1949 Fargo.
Mick De Vries' recently restored Federal timber jinker.
Frank La Torre's 1961 Foden
We are into the Fords now
Richard Christie's Ford next to Brian Dawe's Dodge.
More Fords - mainly small commercial vehicles. The one, above, is done up as a Ferguson Plarre bakery delivery van. Ferguson Bakers began in 1901 and Plarre Bakers in 1911 and they merged in 1980.
One of the great things about this show is that you see a whole range of commercial vehicles on display. The car below is a Ford Escort.
Russell Marshall, HCVC President, displayed his 1941 Ford.
Stephen Corstorphan's Ford
This is a Ford of some description - it belongs to The Bark King lads - Jeff and Robert Johnston
Interesting old Ford
David O'Farrell's L9000 Ford
We think these are both Fords
Joe Beaumont's 1942 Ford
G.M.C - blue one
G.M.C - yellow one
G.M.C - beige one - or perhaps fashion writers might describe it as nougat
Trevor Davis' 1927 Inter
Ken Whitworth's Inter fire truck, above, and another is below.
International - neat tipper
International - owned by John and Bev Ferguson - it's a 1948 KB3
David Wenker - HCVC Club Secretary - owns this grey Inter
