HCVC Display Day 2016 - English and European trucks

The Historic Commercial Vehicle Club held their 35th Annual Display Day on November 13, 2016 at the Yarra Glen racecourse. It was a dismal day weather wise, but there was a good turn up of trucks, buses, some military vehicles and a smattering of cars. We took a photo of most of the trucks, in this post you will see all the English and European makes. To see the  Internationals and Kenworths on display, click here. To see the rest of the American makes and a few buses, click here.

We didn't have any of our trucks at the show, so I am going to fly the European flag anyway and start off with a Mercedes and the Volvos.

This is Les and Greg Bird's 1986 Mercedes Benz 1425, all the way from Orange in New South Wales. Greg bought the truck brand new and worked it until a few years ago.

There were nine Atkinsons on display. Every show we go to there seems to be more Atkinsons each time, including a few unrestored 'shed finds'

This is Peter Farley's 'new' Atkinson.

We saw this Atkinson at the show and two days later saw it on the Monash Freeway, still working, carting oversized concrete formwork.
