Taken around 1953 on Geelong Road. The truck is an International, the name on the door is W.T. Skew. It is a delivery of pipes for Shell's Corio to Newport oil pipe line.

E.G.A. Company truck of King Street, Melbourne, obviously a supplier of baths, basins and stoves. The truck is a Chev.

Photographs from the Harold Paynting collection, State Library of Victoria - Part 1

Here are some truck photographs from the State Library of Victoria (SLV). They are from the Harold Paynting Collection. Mr. Paynting, was a  motoring enthusiast and charity worker and had acquired the archive of a commercial photographer named Lyle Fowler, consisting of between 14,000 and 15,000 8" x 10” cellulose negatives, most of which were identified, dated and labelled. They were largely for the period 1932–72. You can look at them all on the State Library website www.slv.vic.gov.au  Harold Paynting also edited the James Flood books of motoring photographs which were published in the late 1960s, early 1970s. Taken in the 1930s.  The trucks are a Maple Leaf, a Chev and two more Maple Leafs.

Wirth's Circus truck - the name on the door is A. C Russell carriers. I believe it is a KS5 International. I do not know the name of the elephant. The photo was taken 1945 or 1946.

Dubbo Vintage Truck Show 2012 - Part 1

The Golden Oldies Truck Club (www.goldenoldiestruckclub.com) held their fifth Vintage Truck Show at the Dubbo Showgrounds on August 11 and 12. We took the Volvo and the Benz up and we had a fantastic time.  There were apparently about 260 trucks in all, with International being the featured make.  If you want to see the Internationals then click here.
