ReplyDeleteThanks Linda - Service Stations really were stylish in those days (especially in the City) - I guess it was because it was a new modern industry and the new modern architecture reflected that.
ReplyDeleteThe unknown general Store with the pump and Peninsular bus outside is the General Store (AKA "The Kiosk") on the Esplanade at Mt Martha just above the north end of South Beach. The pump went in the late1950,s but the store is still there.
